Radium Hot Springs

I have wonderful memories of travelling to Radium Hot Springs with my family when I was growing up. The place has changed a bit since then. When I visited in 2014, many of the old buildings, such as the lodge, had been destroyed and torn down. The commercial pool looks more or less the same; I do remember the space around the hot pool being more natural, with less concrete structures. In some ways, I like the community’s direction for a return to the natural state, but so much of the history of the place has vanished. It is kind of sad. Nevertheless, Radium Hot Springs is just as charming as it ever was, as you can see by the photos.

Incidentally, that circular piece of cement located in the centre of the hot pool is where the source spring is located.
